Some of those who work at Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services, studied about possible American Indian physical violence in 7 reservations of Montana. Random people who lived in the reservations were interviewed through an adapted Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System telephone survey in 2001. Emotional abuse was defined as fear for one’s safety or being controlled by another individual.
